How to align the front wheel of a bicycle.
Bicycle wheel off center. But i don t know if the dropouts on. I know i ve heard about adjusting center on a truing stand. Fixes br if the shop is easy to get to take the wheel back to the shop and ask them to check the dish. Its off center by 4mm.
I ve got a problem with the rear wheel on my new gary fisher bike. I ve removed the paint from the dropouts but this didn t help. Took the bike back to lbs he checked for frame alignment wheel dish both o k. When the shop trued your wheel they corrected the dish so now the frame tweak is revealed. The 2nd shop checked frame and dropout alignment and handed the bike back saying the wheel isn t dished. This is quite an easy task which only requires one basic tool.
The frame is off so you adjust the wheel to correct for the frame. Lay a straight edge on a secant across the rim on one side and see where it hits the seat tube repeat on other side at he same height on the other side and see if it hits the same distance off the center line.
